Oita University is interested in cooperation with the First MSMU

Oita University is interested in cooperation with the First MSMU The Japanese delegation, led by Professor Seigo Kitano, the rector of the University of Oita, visited the First MSMU on 16 December, 2016.
The meeting was organized by the First MSMU International Office under the initiative of the Japanese side. The delegation also included some representatives of the Japan-Russia Medical Exchange Foundation and Olympus Corporation.
The main goal of the meeting was a discussion of the possible cooperation areas between the Universities. Vice-rector for University Clinics, Professor V. Fomin, together with the Japanese colleagues discussed the main provisions of the Memorandum on cooperation in the field of medicine and healthcare.
The Japanese delegation visited the Surgery Clinic of the University Clinical Hospital No. 1, where the meeting with the Director of the Surgery Clinic, the head of the Department of Surgery, Prof. A. Chernousov, was held. The Associate Professor of the Department of Surgery, Prof. F.Vetshev, introduced the basic directions and achievements of a scientific and medical work of the Surgery Clinic.
Prof. Kitano, as a world-renowned endoscopic surgeon in gastroenterology, coloproctology and oncology, praised the surgical and scientific activity of the University Clinical Hospital. The issues of the video-assisted endo-surgery, genetics and molecular research, advanced training of the surgeons were discussed separately. The Japanese delegation also visited the Training Center of Medical Practice "Praxi Medica" and the recently opened the Endoscopy Department at the University Clinical Hospital No. 2.
Finally, Prof. Kitano gave a lecture on "Contemporary endoscopic and surgical treatment of the gastrointestinal diseases".

The both sides noted the significant coincidence of the scientific priorities, which will be a special platform for the further cooperation.
