The First MSMU & GKT School of Medical Education at King's College London: further mutual cooperation

The First MSMU & GKT School of Medical Education at King's College London: further mutual cooperation The First MSMU representatives ( Dr. D. Butnaru, the head of the Institute for Regenerative Medicine, and Mr. N. Sushentsev, the coordinator for the Research Career Centre) visited GKT School of Medical Education, King’s College London, one of the largest medical educational institutions worldwide, on 1-2 November, 2016.

Dean’s Office, GKT School of Medicine

The meeting with the representatives of the Dean’s Office (GKT School of Medicine) took place on 1 December, 2016.
The both parties discussed the differences in medical education systems in Russia and Britain, exchanged views on innovative educational projects (in particular, MBSS Curriculum 2020 of the King’s College and Project 5-100 of the First MSMU).
Then the talks were held with  Dr. L. Dubras, the Deputy Dean of Medical Education at Kings College. Dr. Dubras is one of the major developers for innovative educational program Curriculum 2020, which will substitute the current curriculum by 2020. The First MSMU representatives were vitally interested in this Project. As a result, it’s decided to organize a joint educational workshop at the First MSMU.

Centre for Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine, King’s College London

The representatives of the First MSMU also visited Centre for Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine at the King’s College.
Dr. D. Butnaru introduced the structure and key projects of the First MSMU Institute for Regenerative Medicine. The London colleagues showed the Moscow visitors around the laboratories and offices of the Centre. It’s agreed to develop cooperation in research.
In general, the visit to the King’s College School of Medical Education showed the leading medical schools’ commitment to scientific & educational collaboration with the Top Russian Medical University.
