The first batch of students from the Kingdom of Bahrain get medical training at Sechenov First MSMU

The high quality of medical education, research opportunities, positive feedback fr om graduates, as well as those professional positions which they occupy after graduation, are attracting to our university international students from various regions of the world.

To promote medical education at the I.M. Sechenov First MSMU representatives of the University actively participate in international education exhibitions and fairs held abroad.

Good results were brought by the visit in 2015 of professor Dr. Oleg Glazachev, the Dean for international students, to Saudi Arabia for participation in educational exhibition, wh ere he had introductory meetings with representatives of the education from different countries. As an outcome for the first time in its history, the University admitted for training 52 students from the Kingdom of Bahrain (the Gulf island state with population of about 800 000 people.) who had successfully passed the entrance examinations. Now the students adapt to living and studying in Moscow, learn the Russian language, and have successfully passed the first examination session.

Training of students is personally supervised by Dr. Ahmed Al-Saati, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Russian Federation. At a meeting of the Ambassador with the Dean for international students it was decided to conclude a framework agreement between the University and the Medical College of Bahrain on cooperation in the training of medical personnel. The Ambassador expressed the proposal to introduce in Bahrain competitive selection of candidates to study at the First Med with financial support of the government, which indicates the growing popularity of the University in this country.
