    StrAU 1 Research Highlights

    The StrAU 1 environment is an opportunity for trainees to pursue the clinician-scientist path by getting involved into research projects. Trainees would be expected to devise a personalized curriculum. 
    StrAU 1 focus research areas
    • Genomics – drugs for preventive gene PPPM-based therapy 
    • Proteomics – methods of individual proteins and antigen determinants detection 
    • Metabolomics – cell metabolic functioning 
    • Bioinformatics – methods of mathematical modeling in the aforementioned areas 
    PPPM-based research
    Predictive, preventive and personalized medicine (PPPM) is based on pre-clinical detection of a latent pathology using biological indicators before the first clinical manifestations of a disease and preventive care of the health problem defined. Recently, healthcare system has been focused on a patient already suffering from a disease, while omitting personal health monitoring. 
    Extensive implementation of PPPM policies with obligatory pre-clinical diagnostics is funded by the European Commission, US National Institute of Health, US Food and Drug Administration. The Government of the Russian Federation has defined the Development of Preventive Medicine project as a top priority in terms of innovations within the federal programme Healthcare 2020.
